Re: Some Rusty strut pictures
Hey Bill,
I think I never answered your question, sorry.
Seems like emotions are running high now. Someone mentioned in another thread that it appears on this forum there to be a tendency for one-ups-manship and who knows the most.
Email is a difficult communication medium for us because in a face to face scenerio you can say things that come out ok because body language does a lot for communication but in an emal the same words can sound like an insult.
So I am trying to avoid that problem.

Couple posts up my name was referenced in terms of still not answered and I didn't want folks to be waiting for me to answer it in case that was the expectation, that's all.
All I can offer is pictures that are worth twice what you paid me for them!
Will post remaining 3 when Rob lets me exceed 250 MB as they are just short of 400 MB.

Still not answered whether they were off a flying plane or replaced previously. N70K is a valid Tcraft registration. I would like to know if that hole was there or as a result of testing. In other words, was it rusted through and that's what was caught at inspection or did that collapse when they checked it.
Here are some rustly strut pictures from airplanes.

They are compliments of the FAA. Notice N number on paperOriginally posted by VictorBravo View PostDave, were those taken off a flying airplane or were they junkyard dogs?
Despite the amount of rust and ugly debris, what was the wall thickness and how much strength was left in them?
