The NHRA requires a certain thickness to the roll-bar walls and according to what I'm reading on the 'net, is subject to testing at the track (apparently the driver wants to eliminate weight and use a thin walled roll-bar and the officials want them to use a roll-bar meeting some standard, hence the need for testing).
My thinking is to corral a NHRA member (or go to the local hot rod parts/performance place and ask who does the certification of roll-bar thickness) and determine how the thickness is certified and if there is enough standardization to build a case for allowing my IA to use the NHRA's method on my struts. Of course, someone has to say what I'm looking for and I'd have to determine if the NHRA tool can provide that - MikeH
