  • Windshield refurbish

Anyone have some tips on refurbishing an old windshield? It seems to be basically OK except for lots of dust, dirt, bird crap and hundreds of little scratches from 20 years in "storage".

Johnsons Turtle wax, I use it to also just clean my windows. I used it on the Apache Helicopters in Kuwait when I was there. I had the best looking windows in the desert. Tim

        Tim:
Turtle Wax? no kidding...the green stuff that comes in a can? $2 at WalMart...that Turtle Wax? I have some in the garage now.

What do I do...wipe on, let it dry, buff it off? Will it remove small scratches?

I have used a product called Plastix from Mothers. It is available at Canadian Tire, so you would probably find it at Pep Boys or some such place. It is also available at Marine Supply shops. It has cleared up fine scratches and fog for me.

Yes the stuff in the green can, I think its up to about $5.00 now but it works great with those mircle cloth towels from Sams club. Tim
