Hello there all.
My name is Jayson van Schalkwyk and I from Johannesburg South Africa.
A friend of mine and I have recently taken over a (un) started project. It is a BC12D, s/n 9762. She has come as a fuselage, gear legs, fuel tank, tail feathers minus the Vertical stabiliser and some small bits and pieces. Sadly, no wings.
Again, sadly the fuselage has stood outside for some time, guessing around 2years or so. There is some surface rust and some nasty rust around the tailpost, so much so that it has rusted THROUGH the tube. I am trying to establish how bad the rust is on the other tubes and where or not it is ok to continue with the project.
I have built or restored any flying machine so this will be a STEEP learning experience. I do have a com license and fly king air 200 and Hawker 800's and naturally member of EAA.
I will be asking tons of questions in the coming months and any advise on where to start would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Jayson
