    Tribe-

Need some help. . . . .the fellow (George Grissom) that purchased the rights to the clipwing Swick Taylorcraft is making new parts and desperately needs a complete uncovered project to use for templates. He plans to build gear, struts, tail surfaces, carbon fiber cowls, boot cowls, and nosebowls first but needs existing parts for patterns. Eventually he is going to be producing clipwing Tcraft kits with some really nice acro mods centered around the 0-200 so they are LSA Compliant. If anyone close has parts or a project he could use near Stratford Ontario that would be wonderful. York Enterprises is the group that would be doing the fabrication and I understand they have been doing this type of work for quite some time with the Aerobatic Laser etc. Here is their website.

If nothing is available for loan George may be willing to purchase a project so he can have a pattern for everything. Thanks guys!

    Eric,

I have an uncovered project, but I am a long way from Ontario. I would be glad to take pictures, measurements, etc. Let me know if I can help.

Richard- thanks alot for the offer- I have sent a few things so far to help but what they really need is something right there they can use and study. They are planning to build new fuselages as well- everything is experimental but still great to see the interest. The company doing the work apparently builds fuselages for the Laser series of aerobatic aircraft and has really good machining capability.

I just got off the phone with George and I will be sending him quite a few items that should take care of what he is looking for at the present time.

Slightly off topic, but it has always been my humble opinion that if Taylorcraft would build a stripped clipped-wing aerobatic model they would sell like hotcakes. That is single tank in front, minimum radio, no gyros, no other fancy stuff, minimum weight, maximum tough, O200, climb prop. Cheap. Bet you couldn't build them fast enough. Set up for instruction of course.
I would seriously consider looking for a partner or two and buying one myself.

Just seems to me to be an open niche. What else fills the bill? Decathalon? No comment on that. It would be totally cool to be able to go out and get checked out with an instructor and or rent one when you feel like getting upside down.
Hope George has sucess with the business.

I had Leisa Marie the 180 hp clipped T with 1280 Gross, Standard category, 180 hp Lyc here at the fly-in and flew demos three times. What a great airplane, yes I ahve tried and tried to get the factory to build the ship , even left her there for 6 months one time for copying and a recover in Lock Haven. All my stuff is available to the new Swick guys, they are fairly close to Alliance, Oh. wish they would visit sometime, I sold a lot at the fly-in and more goes in Aug after OSH. I have that F-22 fuselage too!!
