Marc, that prop is actually only 73 inches not 74 as per the model number.

This probably doesn't matter to you, but I'd like to find one that hasn't been cut down.

      Re: found a prop

I know of several mcCauley props that are 1B90-s that are 74 inches, and my Sensenisch is 74 also. The longest one you can buy is 76 for the SAE #1 flange. Its spendy but its the M76AK-0-44. Where were you getting the 73" diameter from? Thanks Tim

        Re: found a prop

I asked the guy who sold Marc the prop to measure the length, it's 73 inches (I'm looking for the same prop).

Based on the model number it would have left the factory at 74 inches but has lost some length over the years due to being overhauled.

Yes, you will lose some performance. It should still be a good prop (depending on condition and why it was cut down).

$200 sounds like a lot of shipping, but it probably reflects a handling charge. I suggest you check with DHL.....I've found them to be substantially cheaper than either FedEx or UPS on bulky aeroplane type items.

                Yeah....buy a longer prop.

You won't even notice the difference.....1" won't matter much. do you have a 65 HP or 85?

                    Re: found a prop

I agree with Dan....how much performance could you lose with a 1/2 inch lopped off each end? Some, but not much.

There probably is an extension that would bolt on, but I wouldn't bother....you should get pretty good performance out of it as is. I have a 7445 on my 65hp and it's a good all 'round prop......decent cruise and decent climb.

                          Or re-pitch it to a 40 or 42.
