  • Amphibious Floats

    Hi all,
I'm a new comer to this forum, but I'm considering putting my BC-12D (C-90 Powered) on floats. In New Zealand, amphibious floats would be the best deal as there are very few floatplanes and therefore no locations catering for their needs. Ie; I have to land on terra firma for fuel.

So does anyone know of any suitable floats on the market? I'd perfer second floats if I can get them. What do people recommend?

    Cheers

    Re: Amphibious Floats

Unless you go experimental...there are no amphibs for a T-Craft......it won't do good on amphibs probably either.....heavy. You might look at some of the types they use on kit foxes or highlanders ????? Good Luck.

OK thanks for that. I'll have a look around. Might wait until I get US side next year for Oshkosh and have a good look then.

      Thank You.

I'm not familiar with the Heath Floats, I'll have to do some research first. Are there any links to help me? Cheers Lachlan

            Re: Amphibious Floats

My understanding is that the Heath floats are plans built wooden floats that satisfy the a696 tcds. The Heath skis I've seen are very simple.

It has been suggested to me that EAA may have the drawings, but I haven't gotten around to inquiring.

I thought someone on the forum might know more.

You might try contacting the owner of this one in Canada. Think it's a photo from Barnstormers, so may be for sale.

                That's a modified T-craft with 160hp.
