    Re: Nose Tank support rods

I have several copies. One is fairly recent and has some space stuff in it. Then there is the one I had in school (early 70s), but the most useful one for the Taylorcraft is an old one my dad gave me from 1947. They first came out in 43 and the full title is "Analysis and Design of Airplane Structures" by E. F. Bruhn and the 47 version was published through Purdue University.

IMHO the cut threads on the wing drag & anti drag AND the tail wires are sufficient for the purpose intended. The tail wires pull about 2800 lbs. before yielding.....that is for certification. I am surprised many folks thought that a 1/4 in rod was only there to hold the tank??? IT is part of the fuselage integrity , the Model A uses same system at the top of the cabin area.
Rolled are fine BUT do not "conform to Type Certificate" .....
