  • Forrest, seen any grills like this?

    These were on my '42 Deluxe when we got it. They were installed when it was parked in 1955. Spotwelded aluminum construction which makes me think it could be factory. I don't know too many people that would have access to an aluminum spot welder in the field which would lead me to believe they are not "homemade". Maybe protoypes or earleir versions of the ones available today?

        my best guess is they were not made at the factory unless for an Experimental, ours were cast or stamped those look a bit "busy" in trying to produce them. I have photos of originals that we shown at SNF...

          These were made prior to 1955, the outer edge was die cut and stamped, and the grills are formed and spot welded. Either someone had access to factory type tooling to make these, or they were prototypes to the ones made now

            Looks to me like the grills on a 1941 Dodge.
