Anybody out there got a roll or partial roll of 3" or 4" grade A Cotton finishing tape? I need about 15'.

Can someone tell me if I need to completely strip ALL doped finish off the Grade A cotton to put on tape or patches? My 43.13 is packed in a box in storage. I was looking at 43.13 several months ago and seem to recall that for tapes you strip down to the "clear taunting dope" but for patches you need only strip down to silver?

        Mike,

Let me know if you find the roll and what you have to get for some.

Can I strip the finish (down to silver?) and cut pinked patches from cotton removed from the control surfaces? It is in excellent condition.

I would not advise reusing old fabric. You need to go to the nitrate clear. Butyrate is not a glue and your patch will stick better if you go to nitrate. it will also be easier to hide. I am sure i have some, just let me know what you need and your address.
