    hi all well im a new a&p got a job with expressjet and i have to move up to shreveport la so last friday and saturday i went up there to look for a place to live and i saw that they had a bass pro shop and beein the outdoor sports man that i am i thought i sould go see what they had there then when i got ther i saw that they had a post war taylorcraft seaplane hanging from the roof there oh what she pritty a nice red and black had the floats on her but from looking at the cowl it was a 65 hp cont there and it had lights in the wing the tail and had wing tanks so i had a good guess as to what she is and though maybe i can buy it too so i taked with the manager and lol he did not know what it was other then its an airplane and the life of me could not get him to part with it it just eats me up that this beautiful tcraft is ther and not flying just a damm shame


    now this was on my mind were could i get the parts to make my tcraft a seaplane and what kind of cost am i looking at ???

    You need some rear attach fittings....available at Baumann Floats...and a set of EDO 1320's (about $10K-$12K) or Aqua 1500 (about $15k) or Baumann 1500 (about $15K) I have Baumanns...if you have any questions PM me.

      We have a Bass Pro shop in Hampton VA too and it has a Taylorcraft on floats hanging from the ceiling too. I got the same reaction from the manager when I asked him about that one.
      I was even willing to come in, take down the one they had and substitute non-airworthy parts for the good ones he had. There were a BUNCH of little parts I could see like door handles, window parts, brackets and such I would have LOVED to get my mitts on!
      What a shame to have a nice plane (we are REALLY guessing here) used as a static display. Of course if we DID get it down it would probably have a water pipe fuselage and wings made from pine spars and door skin ribs.

        ya i hear that the n number on this one is 44088 just good looking it looked new to
