Hello people, I’m a new person to this forum and I’m sure I’m going to have a bunch of questions that have already been answered, so please bear with me as I researched past threads. I purchased a 1974 F-19 Taylorcraft that was in need of a little bit of tlc. When I purchased this aircraft all the fabric was missing off of it. I’m in the process of putting new fabric on it and would like to know where I should put the inspection holes. Is there a manual that would show me where the inspection wholes are supposed to be? Or anyone in southern California where I can come over and take a look at your plane and take numerous pictures so I can get this airplane back in the air. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You would put them where the compression struts meet the spars, Aileron attach fittings, and anywhere else you might want access to. Good luck Tim

      Re: New Guy

My airplane is at Whiteman Airport in the San Fernando valley near Burbank. You're welcome to visit any time. Mine's a pre-WW2 model so I'll GUESS that there may be a few more on the F-19 than there are on the BC-65, but you will get a very close estimate from looking at my aircraft. E-mail me at victorbravo (at) sbcglobal (dot) net and I'll be glad to meet you. I've owned four Taylorcrafts and tinkered with all of them, but I'm still not nearly as much of an expert as some others on this Forum. But I'm close and I won't give you any really bad advice

Go immediately to Apple Valley airport and find a guy named Ross Briegleb. He has an RV-4 now and has build Grand Champion quality aircraft many times. Ross has a LOT of experience with Taylorcrafts, has rebuilt several, and would be a really good guy for a Taylorcraft owner to be friends with. He also happens to be a world class aviator and a very interesting fellow.
