Re: wire clips
Aircraft Spruce,Univair, and Wag-Aero sell them. Look up fabric clips, fasteners,or Martin wires. You will find them but make sure you get the ones that are made specificly for taylorcraft. Aircraft Spruce does list them for taylorcraft in there cataloge but I believe you will find them in the index under Martin wire, fabric clips, or fasteners.Kevin Mays

Re: wire clips
Amen to that!! thanks Kevin, I love to have guys like you out there, ready and able to help the new guys. I find myself getting short with some of them....... new guys: read , listen , learn, check twice, listen, read again , find a good mechanic who knows the Taylorcraft....... and use rib stitching on the old wings , wires on the newer ones....
I just spent two days with G. Kent Brown on the C.G. Taylor documentary for PBS, I read some more and learned more. Gosh what a neat guy he was!! I will spend Easter with the family today, go to the Ohio Aviaiton Conference Mon, Tues. and start getting ready for SNF....Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc

Re: wire clips
Robert Thanks for the Photo. I just talked to the Man who owns the machine that makes the "Martin Wire" for Spuce. They gave me his number when I asked about Wire for the Tcraft. The machine is in North Dakota and according to its owner it is some piece of work. Made up from a bunch of parts from a singer sewing manchine and other Items.
When reproduceing the "martin" WIre the Pin that makes the bend at the barb became worn It did not bend the wire after the long straight section far enough It souold be almost a 180 deg. bend. If you lokk at the pictures you can see the difference. Accordoing to this man it was fixed but there was many rolls make with the bad pin. To fix the problem all you have to do is bend each barb a smakll amount. New stuff ordered from Spruce should not have the problem. If it still does, you will have to sit in front of the TV with a beer and bend for a couple of hours. This should avoid the "Z"bend. It will also make the barb more secure as originally intended. The actual dimensions of the straight wire is in fact Identical.
I ordered rolls from Spruce today. I will let every one know how it works out.
Thanks again for all your help.
