Hey Dick! I would love to but unfortunately my job requires that I work on Sundays. I hope that this is the last year of that!? I would like to do a mid-March fly-in somewhere though...

      Re:Iditarod Links

Here are a couple of links to the Iditarod race...for anyone interested:

http://www.iditarodairforce.com/ (There is some interesting use of GPS technology shown on the Iditarod Airforce Homepage...click on "GPS Tracking".)(Scroll "up" on the map sizing bar to stretch out the flight paths.)

The local news this morning said that Swingley pulled out because he crashed and broke some ribs...

Thank you for the links, we used to have a team from just west of Alliance go there with a lady '"musher" (sp) . I still want to try it with team of Basset hounds...... what a sight! thank you for keeping us up on things.

Basset hounds would be esspecially effective in the deep snow

OK...that was over my limit of humor for the day! I bust a gut picturing Forrest mushing a team of bassets, with a roostertail of snow curling up from behind the blazing sled sporting a Model A nosebowl.......

PATTY, Kelli-Belle & I love it!! I did forget about the deep snow and the male Bassets would have a keel problem....... oh well just a thought.

Looks like it'll probably be Lance Mackey this year. That's pretty cool, his dad & brother have both won it previously.

Good one Rob...! The Garmin can be used for attitude instrument flying and the 29 pound Honda will run my "Little Buddy" heater and my 100 Watt silicone pad oil sump heater at the same time. With engine, prop and spinner covers installed and one hour later at 0 degrees F, every thing firewall forward is equally warm. It takes about that much time to remove covers and stash gear any way so it makes for a nice set-up!

Anyone in the Alaska Tribe make it over to Skwentna after the re-start at Willow?
