  • BC-12D Fuselage project

    Hi group,
This is a question from a newbee just getting started on my F19 project. What is the difference between a BC-12D fuselage and a 1978 F19 Sportsman fuselage other than the year of course, and the F19 has a longer motor mount for the O200? My fuse is going to need some work, the previous owner decided to land in a tree. At our field an old gent has a BC-12D fuselage project, and I am trying to get him to sell. Just wondering what T-cart parts are interchangeable between the two planes? Thanks.

Structurally they are almost identical. I used a perfect BC-12D fuselage to fix a very badly damaged F-21 about 10 years ago. Smaller differences are straight axle gear, different brakes, large rear window, big baggage, heavier spars, instrument panel, long mount, long cowling. Where is the majority of the damage to the fuselage?

Most of the damage is to the firewall and front cabin area. They had to use a crane to lift it out of the trees and it bent the cross member in the top of the cabin area.

        Brian,
I have a complete BC12D fuselage in good condition that I'd sell if you don't have luck with that guy. We're not that far apart.

            Brian,
You need to list some contact info on your profile, so I can email you.

Here's some pics of the fuselage: BC12D Fuselage
It has what looks like light surface rust to me and I see no evidence of prior damage.

They are a different Type Certificate! most all is the same, I think you are the fellow needing some drawings.

                Forrest,
You are correct, I am looking for the drawings for the fuselage dimensions. Have you had any luck in finding me a set?
