  • brake parts

I just opened up my Shinn brakes. The last time I looked at them was 37 years ago. I think they may have had a new set of linnings in the 1980s. Bottom line is the Shoes are shot . rusted and pitted. Is Skybound the place to buy parts? If not where can I get some shoes?

    Re: brake parts

Yes, skybound is the place. You send them your old "shoes" and they will rivet your old fittings (the little brackets that the springs attach to) onto the new "shoes" for you. Have them send you new linings, springs, adjusters, etc. and you'll end up with a set of like-new brakes! Good for another 37 years.

Nice folks at Skybound. Reasonable prices. Call them.

Thanks for your Reply. At 55 that means I will not need new brakes till i'm 92.
