Where is the documentation for two wing tanks? The TCDS only lists a main and one wing tank.

Re: Documentation for two wing tanks
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but look at A-696. At the very end there is note 2, as Tom Baker instructed. There is the information for the left wing tank. It precludes a BCS-65 and BC-12D 85 hp T-Craft, I believe. If you look under BC-12 65 you will note they up the fuel capacity in the standard description, they just don't call it a right wing tank. And then under BC-12D they say everything is the same as a BC-12 65, which would include the standard fuel of 12 gal fuselage and 6 gal wing. Note 2 adds the left wing auxilliary tank. In the BC-12D description you note you can make a BC-12D1 into a BC-12D by complying with notes 601 and 204 and a 6 gallon wing tank installed. Look at description of BC-12D1 below it. It again goes through what you have to do to make it a BC-12D. The standard fuel capacity is only 12 gallons on this particular plane, but to make it a BC-12D you have to add the right hand six gallon tank. Then of course, as has been earlier stated, note 2 indicates the left hand wing tank. They just didn't describe the 6 gallon wing tank as RIGHT earlier on. But if you read the Certificate closely it then becomes a little clearer. At least I think this is what they are saying.Cheers,
Marty

Thanks Marty--I'll copy what you said and give it to the IA. He's a very good IA, thorough, but not familiar with CAR certificated airplanes. We are also having a discussion about the tension of the stabilizer flying/landing wires. Do you have any insight into that?

Re: Documentation for two wing tanks
I don't know if you will find it in print anywhere, but standard practice is to tighten to a low base note when plucked. Unless they were not set up correctly before they should be OK. If they are not you need to look for the cause of them being loose. Tom

Re: Documentation for two wing tanks
Piper had a Service Letter or Bulletin out some years back that addressed wire tension on PA-18/J-3/PA-25/etc IIRC. Not exactly the same, but it should give you an idea.
Don't quote me on this, but it was something like a 1/2" deflection with 10 or 20 lbs applied perpendicular to the wire with a fish/spring scale.
Sorry if that's a bit vague - it's been awhile.
