Re: lower jury strut mounting strap question

on my Pietenpol I had intended to drill my struts then weld a bushing and insert an AN-43 eyebolt and have that be the lower strut mounting point. It would require the jury struts to be changed a little but much cleaner method IMO. Can this be legally done to a Tcraft? maybe I'd consider it at recover in a few years.

I'll do the cloth tape trick this weekend.

      DJ,

Sorry to interject on your thread, but Forrest started it. (BTW glad you are enjoying her. It took 4 1/2 days and 27 flight hours to get the L-2 ferried from San Jose to Springfield, IL). Forrest.......What powerpoint on wartime Taylorcrafts??????????? (P.S. The Unit was a repeat).
      Cheers,
      Marty

Yes it was a repeat!! damn , not listed that way in the Guide.... This is one of my Powerpoint presentations that I do for service clubs etc... and the speakers bureau for our East Central Ohio Pilots Association ( ECOPA).
        check out www.ecopa.cc
It is titled Taylorcraft "The War Years" most of it comes from Mine & Chet Peeks research for his book "The Taylorcraft Story" of which I just got 10 more copies , they are now $29.95 plus S&H...
