  • Stick controls (Was: Posting stuff twice)

Would folks please desist from posting stuff twice in separate threads (especially folks who post photos).

Please consider carefully which forum is most suitable for your subject, and post there. If a suitable forum is not available, contact the administrator [email protected] to ask for one to be added.

Please feel free to add a link between threads if the subject matter spreads over different threads, but reading the same stuff pales a bit.

    Auster Stick controls

I am interested in using the Auster type of stick controls on the experimental 40 BC I am building up. I do not want to go to the Swick or Cole conversions. Any ideas or availibility of drawings (parts????) to do this. Can our friend(s) across the pond help secure such??

Er...Jim, I don't have details over here, which may be surprising since my local IA (UK-equivalent) is the ex-chief eng of Auster. All the drgs went into some great hole; no-one knows where. I must admit it would be nice to see a copy.

Rob, Thank you!! Some close ups are much appreciated. I will try to figure out some kind of fabrication if we can not scare up parts or drawings. Thank you again. JIM

                    Jim:

As a tempter, here is the first of two photos of the stick arrangement in the British Auster. As you can see, the Taylorcraft heritage is evident, it looks like they took the "H" frame and chopped the top half off.

                      Jim:

A detail of the aileron control. Note the stops (in this view, the right hand bank aileron stop).

I will post the whole series of photos on the Taylorcraft Gallery in the next few days.
