Mag Switch

While annualling 33939 Friday, we found the piece in the mag switch that has the indents to be in many pieces. probly why she has been trying to bite me. I don,t know what switch it is, but it has off, bat, l, r, both. i do not want to go to a key switch. Ragwing Nut, I sent you a personal e mail but don't know if you got it, Winston L, can you tell me where I might get this one repaired, any help will be greatly appreciated, bobp

I don't like the modern switch either but putting one behind the face plate of the original and mounting the key in the switch lever works REALLY WELL. Don't trash the busted switch, convert it. My IA didn't have any problem with the mod (thought it made the plane safer) and the look on some peoples faces when you pull the lever switch out of the panel and drop it in your pocket is worth the trouble alone.
Just a hint, DON'T carry the lever/key in your pants pocket. It will stab you like you wouldn't believe when you sit down! Kind of hard to steal your plane though with the mag switch lever gone.

If you have broken parts you probably will have to modify it as Mr. Baker (3dreaming) and Hank Jarrett mentioned. You can't get parts for them. That sounds like the best solution.

I have photos somewhere. If not the panel is out of the 41 right now and I can take some more. I have yet to successfully post pictures to the forum so I will make you a deal. I'll take pictures and send them to you and you can get them on the group. Work for you? If not, I'll still email you the pictures but I need someone to walk me through the posting process again.

Send me an email and I'll send them to you (and anyone who wants to post them). Don't throw away the old switch. They are easy to convert and lots of people need them.
