Re: cowl twist fasteners
Are you talking about the dzus fasteners? Aircraft spruce and several other suppliers sell them. If you need the tool to install them, I have one here in il. If you are going to oshkosh I can bring it along up there and meet you. GeorgeTF# 702 Don't be afraid to try something new. Remember amatuers built the ark, professionals built the titanic!

Re: cowl twist fasteners
Bob,
Go over to the MSN L-2 Liaison Group sight, just search Google for it. There was a gentleman there making new Boeing fasteners, look under the messages forum. I hope you are not in too big of a hurry as I posted several questions regarding my L-2 several weeks ago and haven't received an answer. But, give it a try, good luck!Cheers,
Marty

Re: cowl twist fasteners
Dick,
I received every one of your responses from my private e-mails to you. I'm talking about the MSN L-2 website itself. I put several questions on the MSN site and have received no responses, it is like it went dead suddenly. That comment was not aimed toward you, but now I can see how you thought it was. I forgot it was you with the Boeing fasteners!!!!! I had other questions about first aid kits and canopy covers..... Dick, are you going to Oshkosh?Last edited by M Towsley; 07-21-2006, 06:19.Cheers,

Re: cowl twist fasteners
Mike,
Go to the MSN L-2 Liaison website and go to the pictures. There are a couple of very nice pictures of a Boeing fastener. Basically you slip a small 'wing' through a slot in the cowl, pull and twist. The fastener is attached to a bracket on the firewall and stays with the plane. Just a different style of fastener they used on L-2's that didn't need a tool or screwdriver to remove.Cheers,
Marty
