    Ed: to further Forrest's response:

    1st answer = yes
    2nd answer = yes
3rd answer = we'll work the agenda nearer the time, but a general rule of thumb available . Also, come along with your own items of interest (be they technical, maintenance, operational, flying tips, etc) and pitch in.

And bring your name badge, then we have a fighting chance to welcome you properly. Unless you have been there before, in which case we will demand that it's your round.

Is it O.K. to bring a tent?

Hey guys, is it O.K. for me to tent under the wing of my plane?
I'm wanting to do it more in the spirit of 1930s barnstorming
that being a cheapie. I'll bring up photos of all the work that I did on the ship with me. Please understand that while she is aerodynamicly very sound, she is VERY plain, and her interior in nowhere near finished yet, so don't bad mouth her in her earshot, you will hurt her feelings. Airport photo please??

            Hey guys,
I saw a wonderfull photo of the airfield at La Grange and am
wondering if someone has a photo from the air of what Alliance will look like to me when I'm coming in from the Southwest? I
have never seen the airport before, and plan to have Manu Sina
( Samoan for Friggatebird ), at the fly-in. Any help as to what to look for on the way in would be a GREAT help. Sabrina

What is the street address for the airport? Because I am driving in I need to map it at Yahoo. The GPS doesn't do me much good this time :-).

Dave, it's pretty simple. I-80 west to I-76 west to Ohio 225. South about 12 miles. You'll see Barber field on the left (the hangar is blue). About halfway on 225 you'll come to the Deerfield circle. Just keey\p on 225. It's a little confusing as US 224 intersects at that point and you'll be on both routes for about two miles. OH225 turns left at a blinker light. See you there !! Dick

                  Dick,

Thanks for the directions. I am used to looking for the chicken farms and the river. I bet it looks different from the ground.

I have just been out pulling the aileron coves off of a wing. The more I pull off the more I find that needs to be pulled off and cleaned/repaired/replaced. There is a real temptation to hop in the car and go look at a '61 Cessna 150 that is for sale about 60 miles from here.

                    Dave,
If you decide to go with a C-150 and want to sell your t craft let me know.I have a friend that is looking for one in need of repairs or light(easy)restore.

                    Also,
I should have an empty seat or 2 on my way to Alliance from east Ky if anyone needs a ride.

Going to keep the Taylorcraft. It has way too high of a cool factor to get rid of. I like the look on people's faces when you tell them that you fly a 60 year old airplane that doesn't have a radio or a starter :-).

It is just looking like it will be next summer before I have the wings done. Then the fuselage needs fabric and the cowlings need repair, and.........

My son was taking lessons and I want something to fly. I know that renting is cheaper but I still prefer to own. Not too smart with money I guess.

Kevin, I am on the horns of dilemma and may sell my T-Craft. The engine is toast, but the airframe is in good shape and completed a serious and comprehensive annual in Aprils. If your friend is looking for an easy restore, this would probably fill the bill. Structurally very good, but finish does not look that great and I would recover it. It was covered in ceconite and the Blue River process. The fuselage finish was rolled on. The right wing I recovered in Ceconite process last summer, "utility" job. The ailerons I rebuilt this past winter (you'll remember our conversation) and look good. (Except after I finished the job but before I could install the right one a "helper" wacked the tip and I had to repair it.)

So, if your friend wants an easy restore, I would sell and could negotiate engine parts (carb, mags, nearly new Sensenich). I would then look for a total restore and start over.

                            Traci Flies Again

After a long year, Traci T-Craft flew again for the first time last Thursday with her newly majored A65. It's a long story why we changed her engine, but what matters is that she is flying again, the new engine is doing great, and Traci will be staying with us to teach our daughter to fly! Put on 11.4 hours over the weekend including a nice cross country to visit David Bloomberg down in MA.

It was probably the best weekend we have had weatherwise this year, severe clear and low 70's for four days!

Traci is now ready for Alliance!

So far it looks like a four ship from the New England Taylorcraft Network. Any one else want to join us? Vermonters? Northern New Yorkers perhaps? [edit by RL to say that one "Old Englander" will also be in the flight]

                            Cheers,
