Re: Looking for Cessna disc brake STC

All of the A and B models have the tapered axles. The F-19 has mechanical brakes but not tapered axles, the wheels and brakes are clevelands I think.

Re: Looking for Cessna disc brake STC

The Taylorcrafts up until the F-19 had tapered axle, it had drum brakes but the other way around, (linings on the shoes) . then the F-21 & up had the hydralic toe brakes & they retro fit to the early models quite easily. THEN we have the STC to put the Cessna 150 system in place, then we have the one I like the best: The Swick STC to use hydralic heel brakes, the master cylinders go into the landing gear and you use the existing heel brakes to accuate them. The toe brakes are a bit large & my toe gets caught under the "H" colums quite easily. TAper axle to straight axle wheels for the disc system requires a "bushing" OR use the straight axle. Maybe this is an item for our PMA Group to look into! e-mail me direct .....
