  • Taylorcraft.com?

    Is it just me or can anyone else get to the factory's website at Taylorcraft.Com? I haven't been able to get to it for a few days. Perhaps I'm just doing something goofy. I'm just glad computers aren't explosive, or I'd be missing limbs.

      I got the "This site may no longer exist or it may have moved" message.

      Probably just a temporary thing.

        Re: Taylorcraft.com?

        I called the factory last week regarding the web site and the lady said that the site was undergoing work or upgrading--don't remember exactly but she told me that it would be up and running soon.

          Upgrading the website and the like... is good news. At least it's better than they vanished. Perhaps they're getting ready for real news, updates, and actual, for certain, and for real business. I hope so.

          I was at the factory in April and if the plans I heard about are for real: Taylorcraft should be gearing up for a big push for Oshkosh. Should be gearing up for some government business. And, therefore should be gearing up for Taylorcraft parts, planes, rehabs, and the like. As I said, I hope so. That would be great news for everyone!

              Tribe, wouldn't get my hopes up on Taylorcraft doing much as long as Harry is running the show. He has never told the truth yet. Don't know why he should start now. Don't have much faith in him.

                Tribe;
                Some questions:
                (1)
                Has anybody got a old Taylorcraft in Harry's place for a rebuild, rahab, upgrade, etc. If so -- what are you hearing and seeing?

                (2) Anybody ordering factory parts? What going on with those?

                (3) Is anyone ordered a new Taylorcraft? Any word on delivery and the like?

                    Re: Taylorcraft.com?

                    Good Lord, lets not go down that road again!
                    I will be at the factory on Tuesday to see the status of my rebuild. I will report on what I see with no bias from ex employees or other excess baggage.
                    -Every time I have been there (and in LaGrange for that matter) I have seen progress on my plane.
                    -I just ordered and received a beautiful set of baffles for my A65 from there. They arrived in two days. I have seen other postings on this forum of parts ordered and received. Sometimes not in a timely manner, but they have arrived.
                    -They answer the phone, take messages and direct me to voice mail, return my calls and emails and seem to have the same person in parts (Guillermo) and avionics for quite a while now. So clearly the employees are being paid so there must be some kind of business in place.
                    -They are slow but are getting better.
                    I am hoping, as I believe most of you are, that the factory and business will make it.

                      Jay;
                      Please do report. I was there at the factory 5 weeks ago and thought there was progress. I reported same to the board. But, I'd appreciate the most recent news. If any one else can add news - good or bad, please post.

                        No slanging, please. Facts are OK, anything you are willing to stand up & provide irrefutable evidence for in court. But please no stirring, we've been down that road before.

                          Re: Taylorcraft.com?

                          Ed,
                          Harry is an ok person, but he has people that are power hungry and will do anything to get it! All this problems have setback Harry since January of this year. I believe Harry is very confused by this people, the time I was there I tried very hard advising Harry about this matter. There are at least 10 restoration projects sitting there waiting to get built since God Knows when! At this time I'm restoring an F21B model and is 50% complete as of today. This aircraft used to be in the factory when i was there, the customer asked me to restore it and I am. I am an A&P/ IA with over 10 years experience maintaining and restoring aircraft in which I love to do! My wife is jealous, she thinks Taylorcraft is a woman. I devoted my entire life to aviation and keep loving it everyday! I have a hangar in which I perform all this stuff located in south Texas. If you want to set up a time and day for me to start you restoration, please feel free to contact me via Email. Thank you and nice meeting you!

                            To our moderator Robert Lees. I slanging, slang, for slander? Yes we mustn't. I think it would be good to encourage constant updates, every month or so, as to what people find out about the factory. I've been there twice and reported in a fair even-handed way I think.

                            Citizen Journalists -- This should be taken seriously by the tribe. It shouldn't be done to get even with Harry or insult him... give us the facts. Factual information isn't slander. Watch the bias and be good to the truth. Taylorcraft.org and the ethos of the tribe fosters that here.

                            That said, I think this is the only topic that gets nasty. So please anyone with information share it. Anyone that's headed to the factory tell about your experience. Anyone ordering goods and services? Just the facts will do. Anyone going to Oshkosh -- speak up. Don't be shy, be truthful.

                            With reagrds to all;

                              Ed: It's from the verb to slang:

                              slang ~verb to abuse (someone) with vituperative language.

                              vituperative ~verb to berate or rail against abusively; revile.
