Does anyone have an extra set of prop bushings you would sell?

Re: Looking for a set of McCauley prop bushings

      Hey Rob,

When I purchased my airplane it was a project and I never found any in all of my parts. I am almost ready to put my prop on.. Univair carries them for around 11.00 each. I just thought I would check here first. If you would like to sell them I am interested.

      Thanks

Rob, I was just looking at your bird. What a beauty! I am on vacation next week and plan to get a lot done. It's all reassembly now. I haven't done my trim color yet but I am pushing to get her airworthy. The airport board where my hanger is located (KPRL) is charging me an extra 100.00 a month until I can provide a current annual. I need to be airworthy by the end of May. This June will be 4 years for my restoration. I am ready to fly and work on something else. I will be watching for your post after the first flight.

Don't worry about the prop bushings I can just order them from Univair next week.

Your website has been a great encouragement to me!

        Thanks,
        Wayne

Re: Looking for a set of McCauley prop bushings

I think I have a set at the house.
Let me look and see, but I pulled the bushings off a ground-looped propeller two years ago and kept them around, and they will be a lot cheaper than Univair....

Re: Looking for a set of McCauley prop bushings

I haven't re-installed mine, because I can see no useful purpose they serve. They are underflush on the prop face.
Interestingly, my Sensenich prop (on the other plane) doesn't have them, and of course if you have a flanged crank, they don't get used at all.

So what is the point of them?

Re: Looking for a set of McCauley prop bushings

I really hadn't thought of it that way. I just assumed my IA would require them. My airplane was a project when I bought it but I did run the engine and did compression check and when I took the prop off as I remember there were none on it then.

                  Wayne,
I found a serviceable set of prop bushings in my stash of stuff. If you want them send me an e-mail with your snail mail address.
I'm thinking that your IA will require them if they were original equipment.
I know what Rob means about the dubious function...Maybe they are critical to weight and balance
                  Your decision.

                    Hey Mark,

I found a set today. A local IA friend had them so I jumped at the chance to get them. Thank you Mark for the offer. I had no idea I would get a set locally. I am on vacation this week and I hope to run my engine after 4 years. I also hope to finish by the end of May.

                    Thanks again,
                    Wayne
