  • 1939 Taylorcraft Endurance Record Still Standing???

I just bought an old T-craft magazine ad off of ebay, noting the 14 1/2 day long endurance flight by the Moody brothers I believe in 1939. 343 hours in a T-craft..... Oh, My God!! I start bitching after about three hours.

Does anyone know if this record still stands? I can't imagine anyone else wanting to break that record. My question is asked because I want to be able to display this old advertisement on our monthly "display days", and I'd like to be able to put up a sign saying that this record still stands if it does.

I thought it had been broken by the Cessna 170 that now hangs in McCarran Airport Las Vegas?

Don't know about that but my Buddy Bruce from New Iberia LA, just broke the flight time in a single engine aircraft from San Diego CA to Jacksonvill FL. A little over eight hours. Non stop, in a Glass Air , he built. Altitude roughly 23K, avg. speed about 230K. Not bad for a garage built airplane.
