    I am looking for some answers on making a clipped wing t-craft a standard category Swick conversion vs Experimental.
    I am interested in the 0-200 version. I understand the performance reduction should I opt for Standard category Swick conversion vs experimental. I am interested in sportsman type aerobatics, all positive g.

    What is the largest engine approved on the Swick conversion (non-experimental)?

    If I put an inverted system on the conversion and make it experimental, and this is the only alteration to the Swick STC that is done, how difficult is it to change it from an experimental back to standard category from a paperwork standpoint.

    What kind of liability would I place upon myself in selling an "experimental" aircraft should a mishap in that aircraft happen down the road when owned by someone else?

    I have an experimental Swick T that I'm rebuilding and changing from an O-360 to an O-200. I don't know if you are even able to buy the STC from Swick anymore. I know a lot of guys on the Clipp wing section of this forum are haveing a hard time getting a hold of Mike Swick. Mine will stay Experimental it would be pretty hard to go back to a cerified airplane. I like the experimental since it is easier to modify. I don't know if you can put an inverted oil system on an O-200 leagaly I know it can be done as an experimental. I want to be able to compete in Sportsman but still like the negative G stuff.

      I know the inverted oil for a O-200 can be done on a certified airplane. A fellow near here has it set up on his standard catergory clipped J3 Cub. I copied his set up for the clipwing I just finished. Tom

        Tom how is your airplane flying? Did you get a chance to fly some more since the last post? I would like to come down and take a look at it sometime. I live in eastern IA so it would be to far for me to fly down there. I'm interested in the inverted system you installed I kept my christen system but sold the 180 HP engine now I'm looking for an O-200 or C-90.

            Unless you already have an assigned STC (ie bought it and have a copy of the N# assignment) you are out of luck. Mike is no longer selling the STC. He told me it was due to weight issues with it. The STC keeps the 1280 pound gross weigth and he said that it is impossible to keep a 320 or 360 powered bird at a weight that allows sufficient fuel and 2 passengers. The very lightest Swicks with the Lycomings are around 1000 pounds- add a 200 pound pilot and you have 80 pounds for fuel- add a passenger and you are over gross. If the STC had been for a single place conversion maybe it would have changed things. . . .
