  • Fly-in at O44 near Norman, OK - 02/25 (Saturday)

This isn't a Taylorcraft-specific fly-in, so I hope it is OK to post this here. This weekend, several friends are going to fly in to O44 to grab some BBQ. Its a small grass strip south of Norman, with a pretty good BBQ restaurant 1/4" mile away. Anyone who would like to come is welcome, I always like to see a nice Taylorcraft.

After talking to as many people who are coming as I could, it sounds like Sunday would be better for everyone due to weather. The time has been changed to 12:00 on Sunday instead.

The forcast looks great, 66*F & a slight wind out of the north.

    Arrive at noon on Sunday.
O44 CTAF is 122.9 (the CTAF is not listed on sectionals)
    AWOS is 119.55 (KOUN).
    Left traffic.

If you get there late and no one is around, walk down the dirt road to the red-roof building across the street (~1/4 mile south, see map below). That is where we'll be eating lunch.

O44 is in my GPS database and on the sectional, but here are the approximate Lat/Long coordinates:
    Lat: 35* 05' 32.254 N
    Long: 97* 20' 11.104 W

Count me in. If any of the Oklahoma Tcraft group shows up, look for me in a red and white Cessna 170B.

Is Gladys McCaslin hosting it or someone else? Location is Slaughterville, OK, south of Noble.

Gladys isn't hosting it, but she told me it would be fine if I did. I'm expecting maybe 10 planes or so.

Due to the possibility of unfriendly ceilings Saturday morning, the fly-in may be rescheduled for either later Saturday or moved to Sunday.

Sure would enjoy being there. I was stationed at the North field with the Navy back in the early fifties. Dick

Steve, if I can get the old DC-65 started, I'll be there

Thats great Chet, hope you make it. I'd love to see the DC-65, I got my tailwheel endorsement in an L-2. I love flying that plane.
