I’m looking at the collection of tailsection restoration pictures on Captain Jon’s, website.
At http://www.taylorcraft.info/tcraft/proj207.jpg we see a portion of his restored tailsection. At http://www.taylorcraft.info/tcraft/proj104.jpg we see the old tailpost with the bushing cut away.
Has he removed the bushing and underlying tubing and welded it to the new tailpost? If yes, why did he bother? If no, why does it appear he’s welded the bushing to a piece of tubing, then welded the tubing to the tailpost? - Mike
