    Re: New to site

    Mike,
Hello. I just put 2 and 2 together and learned you are Roy Goode's grandson. I was a little tyke, but remember my dad buying Waco parts from Roy. Are you on the airport in Washington? Sometime while passing through, I will stop in. Do you have any Travel Air 4000 parts?

        Mike..
Dad still has the Robin. Sold the Waco several years back. He's in failing health and no longer flies much. But he caused me to get bit by the old airplane flying bug. I am critically infected and will carry the torch as long as I am able. Glad to hear you are too.

My kids and I took Dad last weekend to see "Flyboys" and he loved it. We all did. Great flying movie!!!!! So...know where any Travel Air parts reside/available?

          Re: New to site

Harold Maloy had a 4000 project and a 2000 priject when he past. I don't know if his estate has ever done anything with his stuff. There was a bunch of 4000 stuff in Goodyear, AZ, but I can't find their contact info. A friend of mine had a project he got from Ken Cassens, but he sold it and I don't know where it went. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

            Mike,
Do you have, or know anyone who has the cast plate on the bottom center of the panel that the throttle, carb heat, and mixture cables went through on the 1940 BC65s? If so, how much for one, and where do I send the money?? Sabrina

Do you mean the rectangle aluminum throttle plate that shows throttle position and Do not exceed 131 MPH? If that is what you are looking for I had one made a few years back. Let me know and I can send you contact information.

                Winston,
That is what I'm looking for. I'm trying to set up the interior to be as close to stock as possible. Which brings up another question folks, my tach works fine, but the oil pressure gauge was cobbled up by the previous owner, and looks terrible. Being as it is part of the most prominant feature on the panel, I would REALLY like to send the tach out to be restored by a COMPETANT shop.
I realize that I would be without the tach for about half a year, but I have a 3 1/2 inch CCW turning tach that I can install in the old panel along with the small oil press and oil temps that are already there. Which brings me to ANOTHER question. Mike, do you have any pre war BC 65 panels in your collection? How much??
THANKS GUYS, with the help of the tribe, I should be able to have a FINE restoration of a pre war BC65 by this time next year, all while still flying it. The only departure from stock will be the Luscombe twin exhausts. Sabrina

Sabrina, Ken Hecht on this list was making new 'old' panels.
