Dedrekon,
Thanks for the compliments. It's an 0-470R. That airframe was the one that they approved that STC as well as the STC for 2440 floats on, long ago. My best friend flew it for his first commercial flying job, up in Canada, then bought it when he made Chief Pilot for Japan Airlines, and hired me to rebuild it.. I'd almost get something done, and he'd call from Brazil or somewhere and change his mind about what he wanted, so I'd start over.. hahhaa. Then he got killed in a car wreck and another friend of mine wound up buying it, and we finished it, along with all the things he wanted changed.. all in all it was in my hangar for about 10 years. It's got a full panel, a set of extra fuel tanks behind the cabin (my STC that will be out soon), and a bunch of other stuff done... it's living at Bayview airport in WA now.
He hasn't gotten back to me with figures yet, but last time we talked, he was amazed at how slow he could get it, and how solid it was, and he'd just flown another Stinson with an 0-470 not too long before, so they must've made some improvements.

John,
My regular flyer is an 0-470 equipped 108-3. They are terrific performers already, but anything you can do to slow down (in control) as you're making that turn in the river bend to get you on that little beach is a huge plus. I'd like to put them on both my T and the Stinson.
Your workmanship looks amazing, and that panel is mind boggling. You're only a couple hundred miles from us here at Lenhardt near Hubbard, Oregon. I used to get up to the San Juans a lot, but it's getting to be kind of a hassle these days. You can get a great lunch there at Friday Harbor....the $200 hamburger!
Thanks for the compliments! I'm actually in Montana, but the plane's over in WA. I used to live up in the Ferndale/Bellingham area for a while.
Drop over to MT sometime.. I'd love to talk Stinsons and Tcrafts! I'm on the GreatFalls sectional as Hanson.
John H.
