ID:	189676 Well the annual Taylorcraft/Stinson ski fly-in has suffered the last two years with a helluva blizzard in '19 and the pandemic in '20. Perhaps this year we will have a little better luck with a scaled down version. The fly-in this year will again be on the second weekend in March at the Caribou lake cabin. The cabin is located on the northeast shore of the lake which is about half way between Tustemena Lake and Kachemak Bay. The current conditions at the lake are ideal for skiplane operation with lots of snow and a solid ice base with no overflow. I will post an update of the conditions prior to the event.
In order to insure everyone's safety and due to the close quarters in the cabin, only those who have been vaccinated for the virus (like me) will be invited to overnight in the cabin. There will be plenty of food but you may want to bring your favorite snacks. Daytime activities can include snowmachining (we have one machine at the cabin and may bring out a second one) Ice fishing (we have an auger) for Dolly Varden and Kokanee, and hangar flying. We also have a stash of ten gallons of 100LL and can stock up some more if you need fuel to get back home. I will try to be at the cabin on Friday night for early arrivals.
