  • Holes for rudder cables in fabric

Can you guys give me an approximate dimension from the aft end of the fuselage to the hole in the fabric for the rudder cables? I made a tool that gives me the dimension from the horizontal stab. down but don't have the dimension forward. Hope that makes sense. This is a 46 BC-12D

The location of the feedthrough will vary depending on your stringer configuration... number, type/dimension, length, position(s). Assuming you didn't attach the cables and measure the location before covering, or have the previous fabric, it's going to be tricky to get it right on.

If you have a lazer of some description, you may be able to point it from the baggage compartment through the fairleads to project onto the fabric inside. Then see if that agrees with the dimension you do have . Otherwise eyeballing it from the rudder control horn is your option.

You'll need a slot because the location moves fore and aft when the rudder moves left and right. So you have a little wiggle room ie start with a hole, then enlarge forward or aft as needed.

        Bruce,
Mine is 25 1/2 from rear of tail post and 7 1/4 above bottom of longeron. That will get you close. You can enlarge for rudder travel.

Thanks for your input. Punched the holes today and came out perfect thanks for your help. Mine were at 24" from tailpost and 7.5" above lower longeron.
