  • Poly fiber interior

Thanks admin for getting me ok'ed! I recently purchased 1946 Taylorcraft and am redoing the interior. Previous owner restored exterior, Stits poly, and used the poly for headliner and the baggage compartment walls. (Glued to fuselage as appropriate and separate from exterior fiber). I see this method referenced but not alluded in depth to. It is what I have so I have to do something.
He covered in foam backed velour. Ugh! Its shredded and falling apart like powder so I am stripping off. It looks poly brushed so carefully scraping clean. Is there any issue with simply painting this fabric for the interior? AND, I don't want to brush on poly tone so was going the latex route as others have done. I would love advice. Thanks all.

I had a Polyfiber rear baggage and headliner in my PA-11. Sprayed it with rattle can flat black. Easy to touch up. Any color will work.

My BL that I restored had aircraft fabric for the interior. It was painted with Aerothane, just like the exterior. It had a cardboard panel from the top of the baggage up to the cabin roof.
