Propeller Woes

Well, I sent my wooden prop to Sensenich after the Oshkosh trip and they said it needed to be overhauled.

Three MORE weeks. It had been there a week already.

This is killing me. One morning I walked in the hangar and said, "I think I'll go flying today!" forgeting (but not for long) that there was no prop on the front.

All I can do is sit in the plane and make noises.

On the flip side, I should have a really pretty prop when it gets back!!
Anyone know what size safety wire I am supposed to use when I put it back on? I bought new bolts for it too!

0.040 safety wire, or the biggest wire that will fit (I assume you have a flanged crank?)

Where were you at Osh? You missed some good camping!

I was and we had a pretty good campsite too. The weather was really good (when we got there). Only a bit too warm sunday night.

Almost didn't make it. I'll tell you about it some time over a beer.....or four.

I was parked next to a piper clipper (that flew up with me) and we had two large tents. We were south of the VAA building and the treeline where all the volunteers camp right off the small road. We had a really good spot!

We didn't get in until thursday morning due to the weather and didn't have enough time at all!!

I was really dissappointed that I didn't get to see Glacier Girl fly.

Rich and Rob,

This was my first time at Oshkosh, drove and camped. I looked for people from the T-Craft club to no avail. Tried finding Forrest, again with no luck. Rob, a little side note. I had the opportunity to meet and go out to dinner with Steve Hinton, Glacier Girl's pilot. He is from the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino. He is the most unassuming and nicest guy you could meet. For me it was like meeting a rock star. He's flown just about everything that is a warbird. I was lucky enough to run into him again at Osh and let him know I bought a T-Craft. The four ship Heritage Flight with the '51, '38, F-16 and F-4 were awesome. Wish you could have seen it. I really wish I could have met you guys! Maybe next year!
