  • Taylorcraft LLC in Brownsville.?

Has anyone had any contact with the "factory" in Brownsville or bought any parts from them? I had not checked their website for a long time and it appears there may be more folks involved and maybe they are selling some parts.
I am only 40 miles from Brownsville and get down there sometimes. If I go sometime, I may try to purchase a few small parts to help on my repair of N96179.

      Thanks, Hank,
I have been away from this website for a couple of years now and after I posted that looked a little further on the internet and found that they had forfeited their corporation status here in Texas, so it probably no longer exists. The principal listed seems to have a Brownsville address.
I won't make a special trip down, but thought if I do get down there I will go by where I visited them a few years ago. They showed me some of their "inventory" and it took quite a lot of space in an old warehouse, but apparently they have had problems getting authorization from the FAA to sell anything.
When they first started up at that location I ordered some Taylorcraft wire from them. I was in Indiana at that time (I spend my summers there) and I got everything I ordered. I think I bought all they had. I checked it and it is correct on the spacing. I still have the wire as have not progressed to the point yet of re-covering my wing. I spend too much time working on my other planes and since I am still able to maintain my 3rd class medical the T-craft is not my main priority.,
I spent all summer this year sealing one of my leaking Mooney tanks. I am getting too old to lay on my back under the wing and working on cleaning and sealing tanks, but I finally got the one done and so far no signs of leakage.
This website has sure changed appearance since I last checked in some time ago.
      Cheers.

Good to hear from you Larry. Don't be such a stranger and if you DO get to Brownsville, let us know what you find. Maybe they would be interested in selling off the tooling that might be there to a collection of Taylorcraft owners.
