  • This forum and web server down for service

We will be taking the forum and web server down for some maintenance work tonight at about 11pm central (USA, Texas and Ohio time). It should be back up by the morning (late morning, its was more like Noon)

Sometime between Monday and Wens. we will be off the air for a few more hours while we move our TOC/Foundation server from one location to another.

The trees in Cedar Rapids are leafing out and blocking the wireless broadband signal that connects our cozy laundry room with the Internet. We need to move where the trees are not an issue.

    Bob & Tucker.

That's a great help ...since most of us a pilots, can we use UTC?

[Clue] We folk here in England are only ever one hour away from UTC, so we have a biased opinion! It's a lot easier for us![/Clue]

Many thanks for the forum. As a new T owner I really appreciate it and have had quite a few of my questions answered.

Bob, Where did you get the great pictures of the old SAGE computer gear, and how familiar are you with the SAGE computer era?

What in Hades are all these pictures of antique electronic gizmos? Sheesh! Were these the OEM autopilots for the T-craft? Oh, I know... they're the machines the FAA uses to come up with logical reasoning for NPRM's!

Bob, thaks again for the effort and time of hosting this forum.

Ron, I have one of those Altair 8000 (?) in the barn, not as nice as looking as yours though. I think its undergone to many post-college experiments with a soldering iron to work anymore.

Lee; The Sage was always an elusive subject for me, never got to see one. Tried to read about it, all I have found so far is some discussion about the software is "The Sonic Hedgehog" The photos are from The Computer History Musuem in Mountain View, California (just off 101). They have an excellent collection and the frightning part is I have worked with some of the big stuff they have on display! http://www.computerhistory.org/

Bob, email me. I worked on the SAGE system from it inception. MIT developed the system for the government, IBM manufactured, installed and maintained the system for several years. Would like to see if I can help you in any way.
