There is some problem with providing you all with some pre-made avatars to pick from. we will be looking into it. For now, you can make your own, its not that hard and if you mess up, nothing bad happens!

Bob, you could post these to the taylorcraft.org website, and folk can pick them from the available pictures (by copying and pasting the link) to add to their avatar page.

The vb Forum invites members to either add their own avatar pictures (direct from their own C drive) or by pointing to a web address.

    Hope this helps

p.s. My avatar is a picture of Concorde, partly in recognition of its retirement this year, and partly as a reminder to some non-UK folk that we UK folk have actually designed some nice aeroplanes.

      Adding Avatar (picture)

To add your Avatar (a picture below your name; mine is of Concorde): [I suggest you copy and paste these instructions into Notepad, Wordpad or similar to look at while you are following the instructions]

First you have to create your picture.
Current rules are: max 8000 bytes and 100*100 pixels (whichever is the lesser). Save it to your hard drive.

Then go to myProfile (yellow button at the top) and "edit options".

The bottom option is called "avatar" (meaning picture...why can't they use the word "picture"? Probably Latin or something). Click the "Change Avatar" button.

This takes you to the "Add Avatar" page, from which you can download one from either the www or from the one you created on your Hard Drive. When you have told it where to get the Avatar from, click the "Submit Modifications" button.

This process downloads your saved picture to all your messages. If you change the Avatar (picture), it is changed on ALL your posts, even the old ones. So no pictures of your previous wife, OK?

      Nil Desperandum

Perhaps our own CaptJon can do a mass "Avatar conversion" of his excellent Taylorcraft photo library so that folk can select a suitable Avatar from there?

          Avatars

          Rob:

Any of our tribe can use the web address of any of my aircraft pictures to create their own Avatar if they like. Please refrain from using images of people though, thanks.

Let's see if my new Avatar comes up this time!
