Still preparing for my first annual on N44057. Mechanic advised lubing the tach cable with graphite and to look for an O-ring when I disconnect it.
I disconnected it at the engine ('46 A65-8) but could see no O-ring. Is it on the tach end?
Also, should I remove the cable completely to lubricate it? Any suggestions on technique? Can I get the graphite at a NAPA store? (Of course, I would tell them that I have a '46 Buick or something....)
