Fortunately, (unfortunately), we are one of those corn growing states. I, too, wonder when I will have to start burning 100 LL exclusively due to alcohol. Until that time I will use the cheaper auto fuel. If it is worth the trouble and money check the premiums of the majors and see if any of them are alcohol free. I know auto fuel is pretty expensive out there. Sometimes it is worth the money saved. Our 100 LL is $2.99/gallon at our airport compared to unleaded, which just dipped below $2.00/gallon to $1.97. Rumor has it our airport manager pockets $1.00 per gallon profit for the 100LL. Here is the disclaimer: I do not base my aircraft in Springfield, however.
