  • Harry Moving Plant to Brownsville (merged)

I have picked up info that Harry is closing the La Grange plant and moving it to Brownsville,TX. This is from a good source. Don't expect the factory flyin or the sport aircraft he promised is going to happen. Another failed promise from the slick talk of a car salesman. I guess we can all fall in line with law suits to get what we paid for but didn't get.

I don't want to implicate my source of information, so I'll cut this off now.
Can anyone confirm or deny this information?

I agree with Ron, if you have irrefutable proof, then tell us AND name your source, if not, shut up.

        Hey everyone,
I just looked up Wingding's stat's and what do you know, he has only ONE post, and in that, he blasts Harry. THAT should tell everyone why HE joined the board. Rob Lees, should you decide to "take out the trash" by deleting this entire thread,it won't bother me AT ALL.

Hey guys,I've heard rumors but that's all it is for now, rumors. How about we all play nice and give both the factory and new guy the benefit of the dought.I also agree that we should wait until we have proof before we accuse and hope for the best.

The thread stays, because opinions and even rumours are permitted, as long as personal attacks or general debauchery is not entered into.

Re: Harry Moving Plant to Brownsville

Some of the replys to Wingdings post I believe cross the line. If you do not agree fine so state. I dont think it right to go wining to the moderator about removing threads while attacking with personal thoughts/insults about the persons content. Thats suppression. Period

I have not seen a new Taylorcraft sold or for that matter built at LaGrange but yet have seen a bunch of press release on SEVERAL ocassions by Harry. More than a bit frusterating eh ?

Most important I do not think it wrong to provide information that may or may not be true as Wingding did . If you read his post to the end he qualified himself and ASKED others to confirm . He did not say it was fact.

Now lets move on as friends and seek out the truth(s) while joined by he great- est aviation achievement of all time ..Taylorcraft. Thank you for the opportunity CG Taylor and all the owners past, present and future.

                  Moving to Brownville

I respect that I'm new to the organization and I would dearly love to see TC back in production. But, I request that someone else visit the plant and see how many employees are there and see what aircraft have been produced in the last couple of years. We could all use parts and I would like a new plane but I want proof they can be built. Time will tell, real soon. Keep your money in your pockets and don't make plans for the fly in.

Re: Harry Moving Plant to Brownsville

Being both an old broken down promoter/salesman AND a T-craft lover, I can honestly say I see both sides. Let Mr. Ingram have the benefit of the doubt and we should all be thrilled someone wants to make parts and new planes. But also do not bury any heads in the sand, and let's not forget some of the previous "promoters" involved with factory ownership.

One thing I'd like to add is that I offered to "invest" in the new company, specifically by offering to be the Los Angeles area dealer. I e-mailed the factory when their new ownership was announced, and I offered to represent the airplane here at no charge, or commission only sales. I had owned 3 T-crafts at that time (four now), and I would have been the most enthusiastic promoter imaginable.

I even offered to be the sales rep WITHOUT asking for a free demonstrator airplane. I would use my BC-12D (now my BC-65) and still be able to sell new airplanes. I even volunteered to write pro quality sales and marketing materials for FREE if they didn't want to spend the money on a high dollar ad agency. I did not get any response from the factory. Not even a "get lost!"

Oh well, Foxtrot Yankee if I'm not good enough to be a volunteer

It is not that anyone wants to see the company go down. I believe that all of the negative press is related to the way the company has been managed and the customers treated. Plain and simple!
