  • Seeking when my T-craft was built

Does anyone know how or where to find out when a particular T-Craft was built? Some folks seem to know the date theirs was produced, all I know is mine was sometime in August of '46. Thanks.

    Marty:
Request the records for your N number from the FAA. They'll send you a copy of everything for just a few dollars.

My records search took about two weeks to arrive and ran over 60 pages. Included everything from day one to now.

      Bob,

Already did that, has a lot of good information, but no build date. I know every owner that ever purchased the plane, but that was it. Great info to have if you are interested in that sort of thing, which I was. Thanks for the help, though.

Marty, Does the plane have a data plate (usually on the floor board)? If so, it should have month/day/ and year of manufacture stamped in it.

Unfortunately, the date portion was not stamped in. Oh well...

You can get everything in CD form as well. A lot easier to page through

The date WAS stamped in when she left the factory. Give me the N number & ser# and I will look her up for you. Forrest

                Forrest,

I seem to recall from somewhere in the mists of time that the SN# would give the year built and the date of mfg. However, I'm old now and am lucky to remember to go to the can.

Someone mentioned last week that my model 19 only carried 3.5 hours worth of fuel. I said "So what! My kidneys are only good for 2!!!"

Amen to the 2 hours. I use the port-jon a lot, or a relief tube or my shoe....
