  • non-sensitive altimeter

    Hi fellow Taylorcrafters,
The non-sensitive altimeter on my BC-12D needs to be overhauled, anysuggestions on where to send it? I'd go with a new sensitive altimeter but I hate to cut another notch in the panel for the adjustment knob. My panel is
    pretty much stock.

      Re: non-sensitive altimeter

Bruce, Century Instruments in Wichita Kansas is doing my altimeter and VSI.
They did a good job on a Roll & Bank for me before and I was pleased then.
They are one company that will handle the old radium painted dials (for $20 hazmat plus $30 dial work.) Their turn around time was reasonable too. Will let you know how it goes this time. Their number is 1-800-733-0116

Let us ALL know how it goes. It's good to hear someone will work the old Radium dials. A friend sent his compass to an instrument shop and they distroyed it, disposed of it as hazardous waste and billed him for the disposal. Now he doesn't have the compass and is being held up for the bill on top of it!
Be careful where you send your stuff.
