    That is the new floorboards I made for the 41. The black box is a replica original battery box (they used a kind of funny shape 12V battery before the war). The rectangular wood strip is what the kick plate rests against. The intercom actually mounts to the kick plate on the center-line. Many of the pre-war planes had wood floor boards.

      I have several DelCom very small faced radios you can panel mount & hook to 12v or use a battery pack. These worked so well & are metal I had one in all the planes. I ran the antanna cable to asuction cup on the windscreen. All the controls are on the top & very light wired without the battery pack. AC Spuce sells the battery packs.
