You will have a great training aeroplane. Teaches good airsped control by being a floater on landing if your just a little off. Slips and spin are very fun. Rebuilding any tube and fabric 72 year old aeroplane will be full of surprises. Probably has been recovered several times already and rebuilt some. If you think it will take a few months it will take a few years
especially if you never have done it before. Don't go it alone when rebuilding or recovering, find a mentor that has done it several times. Also you will have more money into her if you do a total rebuild than you will ever sell her for.
You have to have a real passion for aeroplanes to work on them besides fly them.
Are you using a handheld radio with your intercom, and if so, any suggestions for make and model. Appreciate any help I can get. Rebuilding a 46 BC12-D. Lee Nicklas
Handhelds and intercoms have been discussed many, many times. I use a 9 volt powered two place intercom, cannot remember brand right now but it is a popular one. Try the search and see what comes up. Many of us have great success with handhelds, intercoms, external antennas, and reduction in ignition noise by various ways. I just did a search under 'handheld radio' and came up with four pages of threads. Good luck!!!
