Having been unable to find an update regarding dues/donations to the Taylorcraft Foundation/Taylorcraft Owners Club any more recent than what I found last year, I've forwarded a donation to Bob Ollerton toward maintenance of the discussion forum, as I did last year. Like others, I suspended regular donation to the TF and TOC due to lack of information thereof from the respective motherships. It'd be swell if the tribe were afforded a regular end-of-year statement to assure us of their continued existence (or not) and a reminder to donate as we see fit - especially to the forum, from which so many derive its benefits.

    Re: Donations

I have been waiting for Bob to give me permissions to help on the forum for about a year. I think he is just busy with life and my offer is still open. I have thought the TOC and TF have been a dead entity for years. If you want to be the administrator for either the TOC or TF, I imagine it could be arranged. Tim

      Re: Donations

I,m with you 100%. I was thinking the other day its about time to show my appreciation for all the info and support for the Taylorcraft people that use this site. Cant pay website and equipment bills with just a thank you only. As in years past, I too will send Bob Ollerton a check for a donation to help cover his cost for maintaining this web site and equipment. Thanks for the reminder Mike V.

This is the last address I have for Mr. Ollerton. Can anyone confirm that this is still current?

Talked to Forrest a few months ago and at that time he was fine and had not sold the airport or any adjacent acreage. He's still selling parts (that's why I was there).

                      Re: Donations

Glad someone brought it up as I've been off the forum since breaking my back & the tornado damaging the '38. But Forrest ran the foundation & I met him once when I stopped by his place on the way back from buying some engines in PA & he gave me the tour & the Glomb was still there before he sold it to someone in the middle east. Then you could pay for the copying cost of any of the Taylorcraft paperwork, STCs, 337s, etc. Is Forrest still the head of the foundation & where's all the paperwork? The guy I bought the engines from had a friend that worked at Taylorcraft & gave me a pencil drawn set of plans for a Taylorcraft designed in WW2 but never built. Glad I hung onto them I guess. If someone could update me on what's now going on I'd sure appreciate it. Last I knew Forrest was working designing giant commercial blimps but still flight training, selling parts & head of the foundation.

                        All
I am also interested in donating. I have found the opinion, history, information and advise to be very valuable since buying my first 41 and now a 43 project.
If a method or structure can be put in place you can count me in
                        Thanks

                          Re: Donations

Forrest seems to be fine, I am sure he would still like to sell the airport. I believe he would like to be done with the responsibilities of the airport, and probably the Foundation, but still enjoy retirement at the airport with someone else picking up the work. Though being head of the Foundation I believe it has mostly gone by the way-side. Folks were unable to obtain information they needed so little by little the Foundation 'dues' fell off. I think Forrest is trying to enjoy life as well as being fairly active on Facebook, though not all that much on the Taylorcraft Facebook page. From experience he would rather have people drop by to purchase parts, rather than have to ship them out. The last time I was out there in 2011, however, I could not get his attention long enough to buy parts from him. Unfortunately, Alliance, Ohio is not centrally located in the US to facilitate people just 'dropping in'. And to answer another question, the last time I was out there the 'paperwork' was still there but in no organized way I could recognize.
                          Cheers,
                          Marty

                            Re: Donations

Last I was there all the paperwork/blueprints was still in the cabinets in the office. And last time I was there it was hard to keep Forrests attention due to a r/c aircraft club being there putting on a show. Also looks like the parts have dwindled down quite a bit, but still has a good selection of components. Forrest told me if there was anything I needed (parts/blueprints) it's best to send him an email.

So who's going to get all the paperwork I assumed is owned by the foundation before it's gone & run the foundation as it should be done.
