We had a total eclipse here in 1999 (my word, that long ago!)

My tips if you can make it to the path of totality:

    1. Get away from everyone else; they will all have the flash going on their iPhones
    2. Don't take photos...just enjoy the experience.
    3. Listen.

Take care and enjoy it for what it is.

    Re: Eclipse

We had an annular in '84 in N. GA and I was visiting on business so got to watch it all. In fact I couldn't tell any difference it looked total to me.

What I recall most was watching the shadow sweep across the land's surface at what I am informed was on the order of Mach 2. From broad daylight to sunset dusky dark in less than a second.

I am informed some so-called Cold War bombers will be tracking the path of this one and though won't be able to keep up the images should be interesting.

I am 2 states away so will only get to see a partial. If the T-Craft were up I could fly there and back the same day.
