Ski Bushings

Hi All,

Hope the new year is going well for everyone.

I purchased some Federal skiis last year from a gentleman who had them on a F-21. It turns out the bushings are for a Cessna, whic apparently is a difference betweeen the F-21 and my BC12-D. I've borrowed one to have a pair made, but different machine shops have differing opinions about it. Some think it's two different diameter tubes slipped together with a flange welded on. Some think it's possible two different metals. Others think they are one piece turned with different internal and external diameters. One guy wants $300 APIECE to fabricate. Any info and ideas are greatly appreciated!

Off-topic: There's a nice pic of T-Rex on floats on Jon Timlin's calendar! Hope she's doing OK...she took me & Fred to Alliance and Oshkosh on a number of occasions.

Er...that was a Model 19 I think. And bushing is probably the wrong term

I mean the metal tube connecting the ski to the plane, not just the welded washer in the end!

Thank you Dick. One of the rubber pieces is good, the other is poor. I'm hoping a truck stop/garage may have the right width rubber.......

These bushings seem to be aluminum. Perhaps it'd be cheaper to fabricate using steel. Or maybe I should sell the whole shebang to a Cessna/F19 owner an try to locate skiis with the T-craft bushings.......
