Re: "Get on up" hybrid
"Lycoming engine 0320 (160 hp)" can burn less than a 150 depending on prop and power.
"Weight is within LSA limits" can mean a takeoff GW of 1320. Useful load ???
Yes it'd be an interesting hybrid to examine.
I'd like to see one with Interstate Arctic Tern wings (http://www.interstateaircraft.com).

Re: "Get on up" hybrid
Those doors and opener would be a changeout for me. I enter and exit forward of the left tire through my open seaplane doors. Can't scrunch into a ball anymore and go back behind the tire. Just stick my feet out and forward to get out...reverse the posture to get in butt first. Other than that small item it looks like and nice build.

Re: "Get on up" hybrid
It's performance, W&B, useful load remain undetermined in this thread. But as an Experimental that would have been developed assuming it's now certified.
The Cub's USA-35B modified airfoil versus The 23012 Taylorcraft indicates the latter requires more AOA for the same lift, but the latter also requires less trim drag to correct pitching moment which is a plus for faster cruising. Stall behavior favors the Cub unless VG's are installed on the Taylorcraft.
The mission profile for lift and low and slow favors the Cub. The mission profile for mpg and mph favors the Taylorcraft.
That's why I mentioned using a flapped Interstate or Arctic Tern wing as the best compromise when loaded for limited length or rough landing areas. Or easily removable Gurney flaps when needed on a stock wing especially on floats.
