    We cut the seal undersize so the material fits tightly over the cords. It's cold weather fuel proof material that's used for fuel tank containment liners and locally for covering the front of vehicle radiator grills in the extreme cold to let the engine warm up. These guys sell and install it: http://www.alaskatent.com It feels like silicone covered fabric and can't be torn by normal mortals. As Mark suggests it would be good to also cover the exposed cords with similar material that still lets the bungees stretch.
